PHP & IOP Treatment Programs At The Nestled Recovery
What Is A Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)?
A Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is an intensive, highly structured outpatient program that serves as a bridge between inpatient and outpatient addiction treatment. This level of care allows clients to attend treatment during the day and return home at night. PHPs are usually designed for people who require more support than an outpatient program can provide but do not require 24-hour care in an inpatient setting.
At The Nestled Recovery, PHP clients attend group 5 days per week, attend 1 individual session weekly, and see our psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner for medication management once per week. Groups focus on relapse prevention including coping skills for triggers and cravings, processing trauma, emotion regulation, family dynamics, and learning healthy communication skills.
What Is An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)?
An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is typically a step down from a Partial Hospitalization Program. It is designed to provide structured, focused treatment to clients while allowing them to maintain their daily routines. IOP treatment is usually designed for people who have completed a PHP program or who require less intensive treatment than a PHP.
At The Nestled Recovery, IOP clients attend group 3 days per week and attend 1 individual session weekly. Groups focus on relapse prevention including coping skills for triggers and cravings, processing trauma, emotion regulation, family dynamics, and learning healthy communication skills.
How long does The Nestled Outpatient Program last?
- Average PHP programming is 5 weeks with a total of 25 group sessions and 5 individual sessions, but each client’s program is individualized based on their needs.
- Average IOP programming extends an additional 8 weeks with a total of 24 group sessions and 8 individual sessions, but each client’s program is individualized based on their needs.
- Traditional Outpatient programming extends another 8 weeks after completing PHP or IOP, with 16 group sessions and 8 individual sessions to allow clients to transition to a less intensive level of care before discharge. The client’s length of stay will be tailored depending on their individual needs
