Rebuilding Your Life Starts With Treatment

Many folks with a substance use disorder make attempts at rebuilding their lives on their own. Unfortunately, most are unable to successfully manage their withdrawal symptoms and make healthier choices. Not only does addiction alter brain chemistry, but people also fall into a cycle of unhealthy decision-making that isn’t so easy to recognize. To truly overcome a substance use disorder, addiction treatment is vital for rebuilding a life.

How Do I Know If I Need Treatment?

Getting help for a substance addiction still comes with a stigma that stands in the way of bettering ourselves. We may see someone stop their alcohol misuse without stepping foot into a treatment center or detox unit. We compare ourselves to that person and think “if they can, so can I.” The truth is, that every person has issues that affect them differently. Making our recovery a personal journey, rather than a textbook situation. There are some signs that can help you realize that you do need outside help from a treatment facility.

  • The substance you abuse becomes the center of your entire world
  • Your physical health is failing
  • You struggle with your mental health
  • Your substance use is increasing in order to get the same effects
  • Your substance misuse is causing a lot of problems in your life
  • You have tried to quit (perhaps multiple times) and still can’t stay away from it

Who Benefits From Addiction Treatment?

Everyone benefits! The person suffering from the addiction can begin recovering and learning new ways to live their lives. They can create trust with family and friends. Their relationships with their employers will improve. Or, they may find new work that fulfills an emotional need while helping them become sustainable.

Addiction is not just an individual’s problem, it’s a societal problem. When one person recovers, the entire community benefits. There is one less person committing a crime. One less person experiencing homelessness. One less person dying unnecessarily. There is also one more person doing good work for the community. One more person working and contributing to the financial wellbeing of the community.

What Does Treatment Look Like

Treatment is often widely misunderstood. Hollywood portrays it in such a way that we fear it. The reality is, treatment can be a wonderful healing process that.

Everyone starts at detoxification at some point in their recovery journey. Some need medically-assisted detox to help them manage their withdrawal symptoms. At The Nestled Recovery Center, this is where your 30-day journey begins.
