Anna Szostak, CADC

Outpatient Substance Abuse Counselor

“Everything in my life has led me to this point. All of my failures, my successes, my heartaches, and my breakthroughs have contributed to who I am today as a person, a woman, a wife, a mother, and a counselor. I believe that all our experiences are helping us in our personal growth and teaching us the resilience we all need.”

Anna grew up in Poland and always wanted to help others with their struggles. Since she was a young girl, Anna wanted to help people with addiction and co-dependency as she saw that in her environment. Following in her father’s footsteps, she started volunteering in a youth program for kids of alcoholics. She witnessed the destruction that addiction brought to the families. That is why she decided to study Behavioral Re-adjustment before leaving Poland. As a 22-year-old woman, she wanted to explore different modalities and cultures so she came to the USA and studied Psychology with an emphasis on Addiction. Through her career in addiction, Anna has discovered that recovery is so much more than just not using mood-altering chemicals but addressing the person as a whole and their four areas of health (mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual) which led her to study Ayurveda “the knowledge of life”. Combining her knowledge of behavioral re-adjustment, psychology, addiction, and Ayurveda Anna will help guide her clients to not only address addiction but also treat themselves as a whole person.
